177322.000 Mapuche kultrung, or Mapuche shaman’s drum, ca. 1920, Chile. This kultrung, or Mapuche shaman’s drum, dating to ca. 1920 was used during large public rituals performed at earthen mounds. Held vertically, it’s desgins depict the Mapuche cosmos. It is the focal object for the Tierra del Fuego region.
